Amazon.com Product Description Rugged and sporty enough for outdoor adventures, but casual enough for everyday wear, the Field Expedition Classic Watch #T40051 from Timex is a pleasure to wear. A polished silver-tone metal case surrounds an olive green dial, complete with Arabic numeral hour markers, silver-tone hands, and a sweeping seconds hand. An Indiglo nightlight gives an extra glow in darker conditions, while a "quick-date" features keeps your day on-track. There's also a brown, water-resistant leather strap for extra durability and comfort. Water resistant to 150 feet.
Product Description This Timex Watch (but not any battery, crystal, band, or strap) is warranted to the owner for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of purchase against defects in manufacture by Timex Corporation. Timex will not repair defects relating to servicing not performed by Timex Corporation. This limited warranty applies to US Customers.

No time for Timex August 11, 2010 Ernest D. Cossiboom (Louisville, KY) I can remember when Timex watches stood for quality and dependability. After years of trying to save money on cheaper watches that I replaced about every year, I decided to take a chance on a slightly-more-expensive Timex model that the clerk assured me would outlast the cheaper ones. Wrong. The Timex watch started losing time in just a few weeks, and, what's worse, the Timex repair center charged $10 (supposedly for shipping a one-ounce item) and apparently didn't do a thing since the watch still lost several minutes each day from the time it was returned to me. When the $40 Timex lasts half as long and offers no better warranty than the $15 Wal-Mart knockoffs, it's got to be a sign of the end of time for Timex.
Great looking watch with a bad tick August 6, 2010 Alex Mccoy I ordered this watch in lieu of the $150 equivalent (almost) at J. Crew, and I am so pleased with its looks. The leather band is simple and classy, the bezel is beautifully shaped and smooth all around, and the face is striking. It's exactly what I wanted, and well worth the $30 I paid for it.
However, to my ears, this watch has an abnormally loud tick. I've had a number of analog watches, and none tick as loudly as this one. If I'm sitting in a room with the TV on low, I can hear it ticking. In the car with talk radio on, I can hear it ticking. And I swear if I leave it too close to my bedroom door on a table, I can hear it ticking in the night quiet as I fall asleep. If there is strong ambient noise such as an air conditioner, fan, refrigerator, or low music, you can't hear it at all. But left sitting on a hard surface in a quiet room, it will tick its way into your subconscious. I may be overreacting, and I hope I get used to it, but I think buyers who don't like endless repetitive noises deserve fair warning.
I couldn't dock more than 1 star because of a seemingly louder-than-usual noise inherent to clocks. If you don't think you'd mind the ticking, I'd recommend it to anybody. It's a great look and a great value.
Great performance in a modest package May 2, 2010 M. Michaels (Peterborough, New Hampshire United States) The Timex T40051 fits my needs very well- straightforward, easy to read analog face in a size that feels comfortable on my wrist. I've looked at a few watches with Tritium light source, but keep coming back to Indiglo as my night illumination of choice.
I measured the watch at 8.65mm thick, and 1.56oz (with band) both very reasonable. It also has a hacking movement, meaning the second hand stops when you pull out the crown to set the time.
As with most Timex watches, the movement is on the loud side, but I knew that going in and it doesn't really bother me.
Great basic watch April 3, 2010 B. Smart (NC, USA) I wanted a solid basic watch with a classic design and decent size numbers on the face to wear when I didn't want to wear my other very expensive watch. This fits the bill. The entire face lights up in "Indiglo" fashion. The numbers then appear in silhouette. It is difficult to see the date in the dark, even with the light, but this really isn't a big deal to me.
I'm glad I got this watch and it's a low enough price that I won't feel too bad if I ever damage it.
like the watch, battery lasted 10 days March 31, 2010 djh1031 (Kansas City) What can I say, it is a Timex Expedition. Looks nice. Battery lasted ten days. Should have known something was up when it started losing time after about five days. Not sure what the deal is but I went to Walmart to get a battery put in. They ruined it so gave me one off the shelf. Same price as Amazon.
