I purchased this as a back up to the combo pack I previously purchased which works fine. Apparently the quality control is poor on this product. My phone falls out of this one easily.

I have now broken two belt clips by sitting down in chairs and hitting the arm rest. I am going to find another way to carry the phone. The box itself is great, but the holster is just to weak for active use.

The otter box for the I phone is excellent, but it had better be, because the holster they give you sucks! They need to design a better type of retention system. The phone falls out if you jump down out of your truck, or if you slightly bump the holster while working, the phone becomes dislodged and will fall onto the ground every time. This has happened to me at least a dozen times in the past 6 months. I broke the first holster by bumping into a door, the plastic just snapped. That was understandable. I would highly recommend the Otter box phone case but the holster is total crap. Trust a contractor's experience on this.

I've purchased two OtterBox Defender Series cases for my iPhone 3Gs. The actual case itself, with a hard plastic interior surrounded by a gel wrap-around shield is GREAT. It's protected it from the 5 times that the phone has popped out of the belt clip. I always make certain that all of the rubber tabs are in place, the phone is securely seated in the clip, etc.. That does NOT keep it from falling out. My coat can hit it the wrong way, and there goes the phone to the pavement. I can move at a fast walk through a parking lot, and there goes the phone into a slush puddle. This is the ONE weakness of the OtterBox system. The case is great, the clip is horrible. I ended up going with a Nite-Ize case designed for digital cameras. Works much better.
Bad belt clip February 6, 2010

This is my third Otter Box Clip. Every clip has always broken the same way. Sitting down in the car and the seat belt put a little force on it and snap, there goes another clip. I know your probably thinking well then take it off before you get in the car. My response to that is that it is a non-destructible case for the phone which is great and I think it is well designed with the exception of the destructable clip for the non-destructible case.
