 Bad belt clip February 6, 2010

This is my third Otter Box Clip. Every clip has always broken the same way. Sitting down in the car and the seat belt put a little force on it and snap, there goes another clip. I know your probably thinking well then take it off before you get in the car. My response to that is that it is a non-destructible case for the phone which is great and I think it is well designed with the exception of the destructable clip for the non-destructible case.

The OtterBox case, in general, is fantastic. It is the only case I have used that is rugged to the point that it protects my iPhone from my klutz handling. It takes immense abuse and protects the iPhone from everything I have given to it. The belt clip is also very well built and holds the iPhone in place effectively - for a while. The iPhone holder will rotate around the belt clip, with click-stops, allowing you to wear it vertical, horizontal, or anything in between. Here is the problem. That rotating mechanism wears out real fast as does the snap-in holders for the phone itself. After 7 months, my first belt clip was rotating freely, without any click-stops, and the mechanism for holding the iPhone case in place was very weak. So, I had to buy this replacement. I hope that this belt-clip will last longer.
I love my OtterBox and recommend it to everyone who asks, but this belt clip needs to be more robust.

I broke my Otter box Defender Case when i was getting out of my truck. I love my Otter box and its the defender case. I would recommend it to any one.

I had a few instances when I snagged the holder on something causing the phone to come loose. I fixed this by adding a velcro loop to the holder which easily secures the phone to it. It's worth it for me to have a well protected iPhone that is easily accessible. This meshes well with my active lifestyle.

When i ordered the otter box belt holster the description did NOT say that it came with the belt clip. Other wise i would not have ordered this one. Now we have 2 belt clips. the overall service was good tho.
