Product Description With a 8 GB Picture Keeper, it's a snap to save up to 8,000* pictures! And because there's no software to install, it's that much easier. Just insert the Picture Keeper drive into any USB port on your PC, click "Start Backup" and Picture Keeper automatically finds and saves all your pictures. That's it! They all fit right there on the Picture Keeper drive. What's more, subsequent backups are fast because Picture Keeper will only copy the newest images when you use it again to save your recently added or changed pictures. And because Picture Keeper's software runs right from the USB drive, you'll be able to easily save pictures on multiple PCs (WIndows AND Mac OS up to the drive's capacity). Users can also choose the more "advanced" options which allow you to select additional types of files or directories you want saved. (**Based on average jpeg size of 1 million bytes per picture)

does exactly what it says May 24, 2010 J. Eshenour (Kent, WA United States) We put it in and it stepped us through the process. It was extremely easy which is what were wanted. Something that didn't require reading a manual or having computer knowledge. Gives you peace of mind with your precious memories.
Super easy to use and gets the job done May 23, 2010 Ms AJ (Washington DC) Great little tool for peace of mind. Sets up folders and everything. Just plug it in and it starts running. Finds photos you forgot you had! I was looking for an easy way to back up photos and this is it!
Photo Storage May 10, 2010 Dennis Lockhart aka B.G. George Crook (In the sticks North of Phoenix, AZ) Very easy to use, however, extremely slow to download/upload between my iMac and Macbook Pro. It also does not appear that it will hold nearly the number of claimed photos. I am impressed with its size and simplicity.
not as advertised April 27, 2010 sahoola (Bethesda, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have about 4500 photos on Iphoto. I bought the 8GB Picture Keeper which advertises that it stores 8000 photos, thinking that would be enough with room left over. I just tried to download my photos and it downloaded about 3000 photos and said it was full, buy a bigger capacity. Even if I buy another one, because of the automatic software, this one will be wasted because the bigger one will automatically download everything again--there are no directions for just adding the photos you haven't already stored. Further, I can't seem to just look at the photos from the drive itself to see what it has on it--it has to be opened up in Iphoto, which then proceeds to download all the photos. I don't need doubles on my computer. Yuck, why didn't I just buy a plain old flash drive?
Nice and easy! February 15, 2009 Cheryl (Spring Hill, FL United States) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Purchased the picture keeper hoping for an easy way to keep all my photos on one flash drive. This one fits the bill. All you do is insert the flash drive into a USB port, click on Backup Photos and the flash does all the work. It searches all your files for any .jpg or .jpeg files. On a second backup I added bitmap (.bmp) files and it went and found those. I keep all my data on a drive separate than my programs, so all I had to do was go to Browse, lead it to the drive and it worked great! I would recommend this product. I purchased the 8GB just to be on the safe side. Plenty of room. There is a technical support phone number which I have not had to call.
