 Little fragile, but works as advertised March 4, 2010

This GPS mount is a little fragile and a pain to take on and off the vent, but once on, it's great for mounting your GPS legally in California. If you move and slide it around a lot I can see how it may break your vent as others have noted, but if you're careful how you mount it and get it on there right, it works well, and holds great.

This product works well with my car. You have to have sturdy vent blades for it to work, but in my car it's the best way to mount my Garmin. Fast shipping.

I got this mount for my Nuvi 765. Functions as advertised. Two things are worth noting: (1) Specifically for GPS use, this mount will be superior to the popular sliding-rail cradle-type mounts such as those by Bracketon. The cables and Nuvi cradle add such thickness that a cradle-mount wont hold it. The mount advertised here gets you off the hook and allows 360 degree adjustment. (2) Be patient and careful when attaching this mount to your air conditioning louvres. It is possible, if not somewhat likely, to twist so that the spring loaded plastic tabs will derail and launch themselves inside your dashboard.
My only criticism is that the mount sometimes squirms under the gentle pressure of my finger tip operating the GPS unit.

Was a little surprised how small this item is, but remembered I had to use the original part from Garmin to clip in the "ball". Very easy to install. Have not had it fall one time. Only question I still have is it's longevity, but for the price, don't think this can be beat.
