Amazon.com Review Great love stories thrive on sacrifice. Throughout The Twilight Saga (Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse), Stephenie Meyer has emulated great love stories--Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights--with the fated, yet perpetually doomed love of Bella (the human girl) and Edward (the vampire who feeds on animals instead of humans). In Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment in the series, Bella’s story plays out in some unexpected ways. The ongoing conflicts that made this series so compelling--a human girl in love with a vampire, a werewolf in love with a human girl, the generations-long feud between werewolves and vampires--resolve pretty quickly, apparently so that Meyer could focus on Bella’s latest opportunity for self-sacrifice: giving her life for someone she loves even more than Edward. How close she comes to actually making that sacrifice is questionable, which is a big shift from the earlier books. Even though you knew Bella would make it through somehow, the threats to her life, and to her relationship with Edward, had previously always felt real. It’s as if Meyer was afraid of hurting her characters too much, which is unfortunate, because the pain Bella suffered at losing Edward in New Moon, and the pain Jacob suffered at losing Bella again and again, are the fire and the heart that drive the whole series. Diehard fans will stick with Bella, Edward, and Jacob for as many twists and turns as possible, but after most of the characters get what they want with little sacrifice, some readers may have a harder time caring what happens next. (Ages 12 and up) --Heidi Broadhead
Product Description When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved? To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs. Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life--first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse--seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever? The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

You people are crazy this book is so good. What is wrong with a happy ending September 2, 2010 mikeandsteph03 Stephene Myers is great and I can't wait for more books to come out. I wish they would make a tv show out of it. There is nothing wrong with happy endings and I never knew what was going to happen she kept me wanting more. I loved the book and now I am having a hard time wanting to read anything else. Someone always has to ruin something good.
don't read the book for your own good. September 1, 2010 This is the worst book I have ever read in my life.
I couldn't wait to read the 4th Twilight book.
When I opened this book, my smile turned into a frown.
This book is pointless, and I think that the book has no purpose.
Most people just read this book because they want to say that they've read it,but I feel bad for anyone who has read it.
I don't understand how Stephenie Meyer has a career, and how anyone would even compare her to J.K Rowling.
FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, DON'T READ ANY OF STEPHENIE MEYER'S BOOKS!
Let's all breathe!! September 1, 2010 Jessica Ball I too, have read all the books (twice) and have jumped on the "Twilight" bandwagon late - I read the final book and was totally dissappointed as well....total let down! Let us all pray that the last 2 movies are better then the book... WOW ~ When has anybody hoped for that??
Great Ending of the Saga for Me! September 1, 2010 Marsha Wells (Spartanburg, SC United States) I have seen the many negative reviews of this book, but I really enjoyed Breaking Dawn. Yes, I saw the imprinting coming from a mile away but that didn't stop me from enjoying the book. The fact is, like most of the other Twilight Saga books, I could not put it down.
Perhaps it does have a "fairy tale" ending (wait - isn't that the Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries?) but so what? I got the ending I wanted, and enjoyed the ride. Some people want a great literary saga - some pain and suffering and sacrifice. But this is written for teens -- not for your literary desires. Yes, it could have been better. Yes, it could have had more depth. But it is what it is - escapism at its finest. And this saga has driven many teens (and older) who have never been readers to pick up multiple books and share in a story - a fantasy - with millions of others. That in itself is a great accomplishment.
That being said, this is one of my favorite books in the series. It ties up the loose ends and answers some of my questions. It made for a great summer for me and my family, and we eagerly await the movies!
Final Chapter August 31, 2010 Rowan 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved this book. Of course, I read all the others first and found this one to be just as good as the others. The new characters (and their entry into the story) are well developed--you really get a feel for most of the key players. The ending was a surprise, but a hoped-for conclusion. I can't wait for this movie to see how some of the elements of this story are translated to the screen. I have thoroughly enjoyed the books and the movies.
